Q: Does BetterRun require an internet connection?
A: No. The app works entirely offline. All data is stored locally on your device.

Q: Does BetterRun collect my data?
A: No. All your data stays on your device. We have no servers and no way to access your information.

Q: Why does BetterRun need location access?
A: Location access enables GPS tracking during runs to record your route, calculate distance, and measure pace.

Q: Why does BetterRun need HealthKit access?
A: HealthKit integration allows the app to read heart rate data from your Apple Watch during runs and record calories burned.

Q: Can I use the app without granting permissions?
A: Location access is required for run tracking. HealthKit access is optional but recommended for heart rate features.

Training Programs

Q: What training programs are available?
A: BetterRun offers structured interval training programs for 5K, 10K, and Marathon distances, with progressive stages from beginner to advanced.

Q: Can I skip ahead in a training program?
A: Yes. You can manually adjust your progress in the app settings.

Q: How do intervals work?
A: The app guides you through warmup, run, walk, and cooldown intervals with audio cues, voice coaching, or haptic feedback.

Data & Privacy

Q: How do I delete my data?
A: You can delete individual runs from your history, or uninstall the app to remove all data.

Q: Is my data backed up?
A: Run data is stored locally in the app. Health data syncs with Apple Health if you granted HealthKit access.

Troubleshooting

Q: GPS accuracy seems off during my run.
A: Ensure Location Services are enabled and set to "Always" or "While Using" for best results. GPS accuracy can be affected by tall buildings, dense tree cover, or weather conditions.

Q: Heart rate isn't showing during my run.
A: Ensure HealthKit access is granted and you have an Apple Watch paired. Heart rate data requires compatible hardware.

Q: Audio cues aren't playing.
A: Check that your device isn't in silent mode and the volume is turned up. Verify audio cues are enabled in the app settings.

Q: The app stopped tracking my run.
A: Background location access may have been revoked. Check Settings > Privacy > Location Services > BetterRun and ensure "Always" is selected.
